The Chicago White Sox haven’t been close to their All-Star closer in right-hander Liam Hendricks this season.
The veteran right-handed batsman was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in January.
Since then, Hendrix has made great strides and is now cancer-free.
The White Sox have not had a banner season to date, starting with a 21–31 record.
Soon, the struggling White Sox could be back with their closer.
On Friday, MLB insider John Morosi stopped by MLB Network to discuss the White Sox.
There, Morosi provided the latest update on the right-handed batsman and where things stand in terms of his recovery.

With Hendricks now cancer-free, Morosi told Robert Flores that he predicts the three-time All-Star and two-time American League MVP will be back very soon.
Morosi revealed that Hendricks will conduct a live batting practice session at Comerica Park on Friday prior to the White Sox’ second tilt of their four-game weekend series with the Detroit Tigers.
As Morosi said, the live BP session will be closely monitored.
If all goes well then the veteran’s close can be active in the coming days.
This would be a big boost for the White Sox, who haven’t gotten off to a great start this season.
At 10 games below the .500 mark, some are already wondering if the South Siders can wrap up the season and sell at the trade deadline.
But with much of the season left, Hendricks’ return could help the White Sox turn things around and win a few more games.
